Meet Hidden Acres Packin' Heat, CGC, 40,000 NAFA points - a/k/a Gunn. He is a neutered male Jack Russell Terrier born in 2002. Gunn is a typical Jack Terror and is one of the most solid height dogs on our Heat Wave Flyball team. Gunn earned his Flyball Master title, and his nickname of The Sniper, in only six tournaments. At a young age he even passed his Canine Good Citizen test. Gunn is good at "finding critters" and keeping the Border Collies in line. He loves runs through the desert with lots of stops to dig for ground squirrels, wrestling with Chris, and snuggling on the couch at night to watch television. We are very impressed with his excellent temperament around our son Garrett and would highly recommend his breeder to anyone with children looking for a Jack. He still races with gusto and speed, with no thought to retirement from flyball in the near future. In his spare time, he cross-trains on the treadmill and surfs for cookies in the pantry.

The Terrorists
Meet Tempest Demolition Machine, FDCH, a/k/a Dozer, a Toy Fox Terrier. She is perfect for Garrett and the two of them are inseparable. She participates in all his boy games, loves to be dressed up, and actively protects him at night by sleeping on his bed. As she has grown, she has made attempts to keep all the other dogs in line, however, once they sit on her, the game is up! She has taken to flyball like the scrappy girl she is, but will only run well for Garrett, who usually has other pursuits during a tournament. We were really proud when she earned her FD in Payson. She followed that with enough clean heats to earn her FDX in California. While she does some flyball still, she'd rather go bicycling with Garrett or curl up in a big bunch of covers on his bed. They also love going "adventuring". Nine pounds soaking wet, she's a real treat in this household of stocky, well-muscled terriers.

R.I.P. Rabbit. Rabbit ran into the AZ desert while we were out of town in August, 2010. To date, we have not found her. She is greatly missed.
Rabbit is our "fate" dog. Coming back from a Vegas flyball tournament, we took a detour through Laughlin around the Hoover dam to avoid the traffic several friends told us they were stuck in. While stopping to walk the dogs and take a break at a casino/truck stop, we were surprised by a small head poking out of long grass and barking frantically at us. Chris thought it was a rabbit, but it was a tiny Chihuahua who could barely walk and was so dehydrated we thought she was done for. We brought her home, nursed her back to health and she bonded to us instantly. Strangely, after we returned home, we found out that the dam traffic had started moving quickly again, just after we talked to our friends on the phone! The weather had been extremely cold and brutal that weekend and Rabbit probably would not have survived another night on her own. She may never do more than sit on our laps and entertain us with her cuteness - but maybe that's just what we needed...

The hole in our house was very large after we lost Rabbit. We couldn't be without a Chi keeping all the other dogs in line. Enter Pooki. She's a 4 pound monster with a giant personality. She loves the family and nips the heels of the dogs as they get in their kennels. What a character! We can't wait to see what silly things she does as she grows up. At the moment, she is inseparable from Alisa. She has numerous cute sweaters which she loves wearing. She really is a cheerful personality in a tiny, little body! She has our hearts.
